Chapter 4, Configuration of Instances

Configuring an instance is a method for the backup system to know the type of data source installed and configured on the Client. Except for file backup, any other backup type must first configure an instance, otherwise the backup system will not know what type of data source is on the Client.

AvatarStor automatically scans and configures instances by default, and users can also configure them manually.
