4. Advanced options for backup plans

There are some common advanced parameters, such as:

img

Retry times: Set the backup attempt again after the job fails. The policy will be automatically initiated again according to the number of times and time interval you specify.

For example, if "Retry count" is set to 3 times and the interval time is set to 0:10 minutes, when your policy fails, the policy will be retried every 10 minutes, up to a maximum of three retries.

Maximum running time: The maximum running time of the policy. Policies that exceed this time window will automatically fail.

Data Retention: The way backup data is retained. There are two retention methods, one by the number of days and the other by the number of copies. See Chapter 7 Data Management and Space Recovery for details on this feature.

Data encryption: SHA512 encryption.

Data compression: Compress as much as possible before backing up data to reduce bandwidth transmission and backup storage space.

Backup speed limit: Prevent network traffic from affecting business traffic during backup.

There are also some parameters unique to each plugin, which we will discuss in detail in subsequent chapters.
